Dried figs: export season to start in October

AYDIN. The starting signal for the 2022/2023 export season of Turkish dried figs will be given in the first week of October. Meanwhile, market players are worried about the quality of the new crop.

High aims for the new season

At the end of last week, the representatives of the fig sector of the Aegean Exporters Association (EIB) fmet to discuss the start of the 2022/2023 export season. The start date is now planned for 7 October, which is relatively late but still within the framework and yet has to be approved by the Ministry of Trade. Traditionally, exports of dried figs from Turkey start between the last week of September and the first week of October.
