AYDIN. Dried figs from Turkey are convincing in terms of quality this season, which guarantees constant demand for export.

According to market players, demand from the UK is currently particularly high. Since the beginning of the season in early October 2019, more than 40,000 metric tonnes of dried figs and dried fig products have been delivered abroad, which is an increase of almost 6,000 metric tonnes compared to the same period last year. The weekly export figures for whole dried figs currently amount to a good 900 metric tonnes, which is about 160 metric tonnes above last year's volume. At the same time, the average export price fell to USD 3,732 per metric tonne
