MALATYA. Turkey is still waiting for the onset of winter. Problem is that the unusually warm weather may prompt the trees to flower prematurely.

The temperatures at this time of year usually range between -5 °C at night and 5 °C throughout the day. Nighttime temperatures instead rarely drop below 0 °C and daytime temperatures even climb to 15 °C. Some traders are, nevertheless, selling off their stocks at comparatively low prices. Limited supplies have, however, driven up the prices for small dried apricots over the Christmas break.
