Dried apricots: Rising demand in the Far East

MALATYA. Under current circumstances, it is very well possible that by the end of the year more than 60% of this year’s dry apricot production from Turkey will have been exported. Large dried apricots should soon become more expensive.

 

Prices are stable for now
Dried fruits from Turkey are enjoying growing popularity in the Far East. The country is turning into a welcome trading partner, especially for China and India. Nobody therefore reckons that any significant volumes of the estimated 110,000 mt of dried apricots available this season will remain unsold by the end of the season.
