Dried apricots: Prices range 900USD/mt lower than last year

MALATYA. Encouraging production prospects have revived market activities and prompted exporters to act. They do, however, run a high risk.

 

New crop generates pressure

Although the official production estimates for dried apricots will only be issued towards the end of May, unofficial estimates have already prompted traders to act. Despite local frost damages, market players reckon with a total supply of at least 140,000-150,000 mt. There is, however, disagreement if and in how far the end-of-season stocks have been included in these figures.
