MALATYA. Most companies have finalised their dried apricot orders for the Christmas season and are now taking a well-deserved break. The weather is very favourable for the trees and the farmers are satisfied.

Calm markets and stable prices

Turkish farmers report that the weather conditions in the main growing region of Malatya are currently almost perfect for the apricot trees. Night temperatures are between -5°C and 0°C, while daytime temperatures reach up to 7°C, and there is plenty of snowfall – just what the trees need in winter.
