MALATYA. In a bid to preempt fluctuations in price large companies in Turkey have already stocked up on volumes, which should last them several months. The problem now, however, is the impact on demand. Although the market is mainly stable, there are some noted exceptions.

Subdued market activities

There presently is no need for the exporters to buy as they have enough stocks. Nevertheless, the prices have risen nominally for dried no 2 sized apricots. In addition, most farmers have covered their expenses and are in no hurry to sell. Autumn is also beginning to show in Malatya as rain is being reported. Market players do not expect this situation to change soon.
