Dried apricots: flowering phase has begun

MALATYA. The warm weather has prompted the apricot trees to open their blossoms and the farmers hope to be spared further night frosts. The first cautious estimates of the new crop are making the rounds in the market.

Crop volume probably smaller than in 2021

After the extremely cold temperatures in March, which partly resulted in night frosts, April has so far shown its friendly side in the growing areas of Malatya. The warm weather has led to the apricot trees opening their blossoms; farmers are now on high alert, as frost after the blossoms have opened can lead to considerable damage.
