MALATYA. The conditions in the Turkish growing regions continue to be optimal and both the harvest in the mountains and the drying of the apricots harvested in the valleys have so far gone without a hitch. Prices for the new crop have declined again.

Perfect conditions

Much to the delight of the farmers, the weather conditions in the growing regions continue to be excellent. Night-time temperatures of 21-23°C are forecast for this week, while daytime temperatures are expected to climb to 36-38°C. The harvest in the valleys is now complete and the fruits are in the second drying phase. In the mountains, however, the harvesting process is still in full swing. The valleys account for around 70% of the total crop, with the remaining 30% being harvested in the mountains.
