Dried apricots: attractive prices for organic producers

MALATYA. Producers of organic and natural dried apricots are currently profiting from high prices. Market players are, however, far less delighted with the market prices for sulphured dried apricots and call for the TMO to intervene. Meanwhile, the export market picked up in speed in September.

 Export prices may rise

Although a surge in exports was recorded in September, the export figures for dried apricots and dried apricot products still lag behing last year's volumes. Market players state that the current export prices are roughly in line with the prices recored over the last two years. Prices are, however, expected to rise soon as it is claimed that supplies will become limited.
