Dates: Saudi Arabia remains top producer

REUS/TEHRAN. As the latest INC estimates show, Saudi Arabia will remain the most important producer of table dates in the 2024/25 season. Iran, meanwhile, has recorded a significant increase in exports.

First estimates for the 2024/25 season

At the Nut and Dried Fruit Council Congress in Vancouver last week, the INC published initial estimates for global table date production in 2024/25, showing that Saudi Arabia remains by far the most important date producer with 270,000 mt, followed by Egypt with 180,000 mt and the United Arab Emirates with 170,000 mt. Production in Morocco increased significantly by 33.3%, while other producing countries such as Israel, the USA and Sudan suffered considerable losses.
