Coconuts: Traders speculate on rising demand

MANILA. The prices for coconut oil are resisting the rising trend in the international oil market. Meanwhile, palm oil is quoted at a 5-month high.

 

Prices for coconut oil remain firm

Large stocks ensure that the prices for coconut oil remain on a relatively cheap level, whereas the prices for oilseeds are on the rise. Market player do not, however, rule out the possibility that the prices for coconut oil will eventually follow the uptrend for palm and soybean oil.
