Coconuts: Prices could rise again soon

MANILA. In 2019, market players expect a decline in palm oil production and rising demand from China and Thailand. A permanently higher price level should also lead to higher prices for coconut oil.

 

Low prices to become a thing of the past

The low prices for coconuts and coconut products mean that some farmers in Sri Lanka and the Philippines have switched to other products with which they can make higher profits. In addition to the possible rise in palm oil prices next year, this could also add support to the coconut oil prices.
