Cashews: EU imports at record high

BRUSSELS/NEW DELHI. EU cashew nut imports have hit a record high. Confusion reigns in Vietnam and opinions are divided as to which way prices will turn.

But also at six-year low

EU imports of shelled cashew nuts may have only ranged 3% higher than last year in the first half of 2024, yet they exceeded 80,000 mt for the fist time on record. In terms of value imports have, however, dipped to a six-year low of EUR 429.2 million (USD 464.5 million), which also marks a 6% decline on the EUR 457.7 million (USD 495.1 million) generated in the first half of 2023.
