Unprecedented levels

Average EU butter prices were still quoted at EUR 6.75/kg (USD 8.08/mt) in the European Commission’s Milk Market Observatory last week. Yet, Euronext quotations have now surged to EUR 7.30/kg (USD 8.02/kg). In Poland, some suppliers have even hiked their ex works prices for frozen butter to EUR 7.60/kg (USD 8.35/kg).

In Germany, the situation is similar as fresh bulk butter supplies are extremely limited. Bulk butter quotations have surged to new highs of EUR 7.30-7.40/kg (USD 8.02-8.13/kg) at the Southern German Butter and Cheese
