Blue poppy seeds: TMO looking to buy seeds

CHRUDIM/ANKARA. Czech blue poppy seed traders are forced to lower their prices again in an urgent bid to attract customers. Meanwhile the TMO in Turkey may be intending to buy.

 

Rising pressure
A lack of purchase interest is putting pressure on the Czech market. Traders are currently posting offers of 1.92–1.94 EUR/kg FCA Czech Republic (cadmium <0.8 ppm and morphine <5 ppm) – with the downward trend set to continue. For the new crop, there are still individual offers starting at 1.65 EUR/kg, stemming from cultivation contracts between traders and farmers.
