CHRUDIM. Current data from the Czech Statistical Office once again confirm the good yields per hectare for this year's poppy seed crop. A significant decline in production was nevertheless unavoidable.

Yields at a good level

The Czech Statistical Office has once again adjusted its estimate for poppy seed production in 2022. As expected, the result was significantly smaller than last year due to the considerable decline in cultivation. The average yield per hectare, however, was in the upper middle range. With a crop of around 21,000 mt, Czech poppy seed production declined by about a third year-on-year.
