CHRUDIM. While large quantities of blue poppy seeds are still in the fields, growers are very dissatisfied with the yields so far. Germany's imports, meanwhile, are down by almost a third year-on-year.

The situation on the Czech blue poppy seed market is currently quite tense, as market players are confronted with various problems. The rainy weather in August meant that farmers were unable to harvest for a long time.
