Blue poppy seeds: drastic shift in Turkey

ANKARA/CHRUDIM. Although trading is still very much subdued in Turkey and in the Czech Republic, market players in Turkey report of a drastic shift in price.

 

Price hike in Turkey

The prices declined notably in the Czech Republic before Christmas. Traders are currently unable to provide offers as the processors are still closed for Christmas and New Year. This will change next week, when market activities are set to resume. Blue poppy seeds, <10 ppm morphine from the Czech Republic were trading at EUR 2.85 per kg DDP Germany before Christmas.
