MALATYA. Even if the production outlook is altogether positive, Turkish dried fruit suppliers are still playing it safe with apricots.

Compared to the previous week, the prices rose slightly. However, market players are assuming that there are enough commodities on the market. If, as expected, there is no more serious frost damage, the prices should drop again as of mid-April.

Surpluses despite higher exports
After the end of the referendum, there could be exchange rate fluctuations, and according to trader estimates, these are most likely to have negative effects on the Turkish market.

Since the beginning of the season, Turkish exporters have delivered more than 64,000 mt of dried apricots to foreign countries. Despite this, market players are still expecting surpluses, which should be reduced as much as possible through lower prices.
