MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Spain is witnessing a turbulent end to the season. Prices are greatly fluctuating.

The prices for Valencia almonds may have remained stable last week. At the beginning of the week they, however, tumbled. The prices for Marcona almonds have, in contrast, partly recovered since last week. Most notably the prices for blanched Marconas, 12/14 mm have climbed from 9.75 EUR/kg to 10.90 EUR/kg DDP Germany.

No further cases of the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa have been reported in Marina Baixa. The National Bureau of Nuts currently estimates the new crop at 56,510 mt. It, however, remains to be seen if productivity will really increase by as much as 23%.
