SACRAMENTO. In the recently issued position report, the Almond Board of California estimates 2018/19 production at around 1.026 million mt.

Crop estimated at 1.03 million mt

Around 1.026 million mt of US almonds have been registered so far for 2018/19, a good 0.5% more than last year around this time. Experts reckon with a total production of 1.03 million mt. Coupled with last season’s carry overs, an estimated 1.17 million mt of US almonds should be available this season. In deducting the shipments already made and the contracted goods, it is estimated that roughly 304,000 mt of US almonds remain in the free market.
